Germany's Path to the Future: Examining Alternatives to the EU
VisionGermany questions the status quo. We are not dogmatic, but open to results. Therefore we examine alternatives to the EU to find the best possibilities for Germany.
Examine EU Exit
We examine the pros and cons of an EU exit for Germany in an open-minded way. We want to know if we can better pursue our interests outside the EU and if we can save the billions of contributions to the EU. We are not afraid of the "Dexit"!
- More Sovereignty: Germany could again determine its own laws, borders, and finances.
- No more EU contributions: Germany could save the high contributions to the EU.
- More Flexibility: Germany could shape its economic and trade policy freely.
- Economic Disruptions: An exit from the EU could lead to economic disruptions.
- Loss of Influence: Germany could lose influence in Europe and the world.
- Complicated Re-negotiations: Germany would have to negotiate new trade agreements with the EU and other countries.
BRICS membership
We are examining the possibility of Germany's membership in the BRICS group (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa). The BRICS states represent a multipolar world order and offer Germany new economic and political opportunities. We want to expand our partnerships worldwide and not become dependent on the USA and NATO.
- New markets: Germany could expand its economic relations with the BRICS states.
- Political influence: Germany could strengthen its political influence in the world.
- Alternative to NATO: The BRICS states offer an alternative to NATO and enable Germany to have a more independent security policy.
- Value conflicts: The BRICS states have partially different values than Germany, e.g., regarding human rights and democracy.
- Dependence on China: Germany could fall into dependence on China.
- Conflict with the USA: A BRICS membership could lead to a conflict with the USA.
Independence
We are examining the possibility of Germany's complete independence as a strong and sovereign nation. We want to make our own decisions and go our own way. We have the potential to be successful on our own as well.
- Full control: Germany would have full control over its politics and its future.
- No dependencies: Germany would not be dependent on any other country or alliance.
- Strengthening national identity: Independence could strengthen national identity.
- Isolation: Germany could be internationally isolated.
- Security risks: Germany would be on its own and would have to ensure its own security.
- Economic weakness: Germany could be economically weakened.
Additional aspects of sovereignty
Fixing democratic deficit: We want to fix the democratic deficit in the EU and involve citizens more in decision-making. We want more direct democracy and citizen participation at the European level.
Reconsider the Euro: We are examining the pros and cons of the Euro and the possibility of returning to the D-Mark. We want a stable currency that strengthens the German economy.
Protect EU external borders: We want to effectively protect the EU external borders and stop illegal migration. We want to decide ourselves who comes to Germany and who does not.

VisionGermany's Reform of the EU
The European Union is in crisis. Bureaucracy monsters, disenfranchisement of nation-states, reform backlog – the EU has drifted from its original ideals. VisionGermany wants to change that! We are committed to a reform of the EU that gives member states more freedom and citizens more say.
Decentralised Union: Enough of Brussels' paternalism! We want a decentralised European Union. The EU should not be a superstate that regulates everything.
- Foreign and Security Policy: A strong and unified voice in the world.
- Free Trade: Reducing trade barriers and fair competition conditions.
- Climate Change: Leading role in climate protection and support for states.
Less Bureaucracy: We want to radically reduce bureaucracy in the EU and end regulatory mania.
- Deregulation: Abolition of unnecessary regulations for more flexibility.
- Flexibilisation: Legislation adapted to different needs.
- De-Bureaucratisation: Leaner administration and simpler procedures.
Strengthen the principle of subsidiarity: Decisions as close as possible to the citizen. More powers for member states, strengthening national parliaments and massive increase in citizen participation.
The strategy roadmap
- Reform demands: Formulation of clear demands to strengthen sovereignty and reduce bureaucracy.
- Negotiations: Initiating diplomatic talks with all EU member states to enforce reform goals.
- Alternative assessment: Parallel start of detailed analysis of Dexit and BRICS scenarios.
- Assessment: Analysis of negotiation outcomes regarding fundamental EU reformability.
- Direction decision: Determining whether to stay (if reforms succeed) or to initiate exit.
- Alternative evaluation: Final decision on the future course (independence vs. new alliances).
- Implementation: Consistent realization of EU reforms or implementation of exit steps.
- Alternative implementation: Building independent structures or joining new economic spaces (BRICS).
Justification of the time model
Rapid and decisive clarification of the position towards the EU to safeguard German interests.
The decision about the future within a year creates stability for the economy and citizens.
Long-term implementation requires time and diplomatic skill for a sustainable realignment.
