Creating "WE" Consciousness

VisionDeutschland aims to actively involve citizens in political decisions. We want a vibrant democracy where the people's voice matters. To that end, we advocate for more direct democracy, transparent elections, and the introduction of compulsory voting. Our concrete proposals:

1. More Direct Democracy:
   • Expanding Referendums: We want to introduce referendums at the federal level on all major political questions, e.g., constitutional amendments, international treaties, or significant societal issues.
   • Citizen Initiatives and Citizen Decisions: We will facilitate the implementation of citizen initiatives and citizen decisions at all levels to strengthen direct citizen participation in political decisions.
   • Online Voting: We enable secure and transparent online voting to increase voter turnout and make voting more accessible for all citizens.
   • Topic Selection by Citizens: Citizens should be able to decide which topics are put to a vote.
   • Early Participation: Citizens are already involved in the planning phase of political projects, e.g., through online consultations and citizen forums.
   • Combination of Online and Offline Voting: To enable participation for all citizens, both online and offline voting will be offered.
2. Transparent Elections:
   • Blockchain Technology: We rely on modern technologies such as blockchain to ensure the security and transparency of elections and exclude manipulation.
   • Public Control: We enable independent election observers and representatives of all parties to control the election process to ensure the integrity of elections.
   • Open Source: The software used for elections is open source so that independent experts can review it.
   • Decentralized Storage: Election results are stored decentralized to prevent manipulation.
   • Training for Election Workers: Election workers are intensively trained to minimize errors in vote counting.
3. Mandatory Voting:
   • Mandatory Participation: We introduce mandatory voting to increase voter turnout and emphasize each citizen's responsibility for democracy.
   • Moderate Sanctions: When the voting obligation is not followed, moderate sanctions are imposed, e.g., fines.
   • Justified Exemptions: Exemptions from mandatory voting are possible in justified cases, e.g., for health reasons.
   • Phased Model: Mandatory voting could be introduced gradually.
   • Information campaigns: Comprehensive information campaigns should highlight the importance of voter turnout.
   • Voting rights from 16: Lowering the voting age to 16 could increase young people's voter turnout.

   • Content: The offerings provide knowledge about political processes, democratic values, current challenges, how the state works, and the history of democracy.
   • Diverse formats: The offerings are available in various formats, e.g., in-person events, online courses, podcasts, videos, and interactive learning programs.
   • Access for all: Accessibility and multilingualism are ensured, regardless of origin, educational level, or financial means.
2. Media literacy:
   • Training and workshops: We promote media literacy offerings to empower citizens to critically question information, verify sources, and recognize fake news.
   • Contents: Knowledge about how media work, strategies of opinion-making, and the dangers of disinformation.
   • Target groups: The offerings are aimed at all age groups, from students to adults to seniors.
   • Collaboration with media: We collaborate with independent media to strengthen media education and promote high-quality journalism.
3. Democracy workshops:
   • Interactive workshops: Organization in schools, companies, and clubs to strengthen understanding of democratic processes.
   • Contents: Knowledge about the history of democracy, fundamental rights, separation of powers, and the importance of elections.
   • Methods: Playful and interactive methods such as role-plays, simulations, and discussions.
   • Debate culture: Promotion of a vibrant debate culture with respectful interaction and tolerance at the forefront.

   • Active peace policy: Diplomacy, dialogue, and conflict resolution. Strengthening international cooperation and the United Nations.
   • Humanitarian Aid: Rapid assistance in crisis areas for people affected by war or natural disasters.
   • Global Justice: Fairer distribution of resources and worldwide adherence to human rights. Fight against poverty and hunger.
2. Development Cooperation:
   • Sustainable Projects: Promotion in the areas of education, health, food security, and economic development to strengthen local people.
   • Combating the Causes of Migration: Investment in local prospects in poorer countries.
   • Transparency and Control: Effective use of funds through regular evaluations.
3. Cultural Exchange:
   • Exchange Programs: Promotion for students, scholars, and artists to reduce prejudice.
   • Language Promotion: Support in learning foreign languages to facilitate communication.
   • Cultural Diversity in Germany: Support for initiatives that promote intercultural dialogue and integration.

2. Language Promotion:
   • Integration courses: High-quality courses for language, culture and society.
   • Early childhood language promotion: Language education already in kindergarten for equal educational opportunities.
3. Anti-discrimination (deepening):
   • Legal foundations: Strengthening the protection of minorities.
   • Awareness raising: Public campaigns and educational offers to reduce prejudice.
   • Consultation offers: Simple and unbureaucratic help for affected people.

Justification of the Time Model

• Gradual Implementation: Building a strong "WIR Awareness" is a long-term process that requires time and patience.
